Product description:I started out creating this piece by throwing a stoneware pot with handles, I craved and pierced the piece so it would be able to have my brass etchings inserted into the pot. After the glaze was fired I then added an oil patina to the pot. The bird I created started out as strips of paper and was then shaped into the bird you see I like to say he is a Mockingbird. The bird was covered with gesso and then painted with acrylic paint. His legs have been made out of steel and are attached to the slat of bamboo that is tired to the handles with grass that was first soaked in water to soften. The brass etchings depic on one side an etching of branches and a nest that the bird is building. He is holding a brass etched branch with etched leaves in his beak. The other side has a scene of a landscape with mountians and the tree. My pottery Sculptures all come with a black aged wooden base and acrylic box. Please feel free to contact me for more information. I will post additional photos. Size is case size. The artwork is 101/2x6x7.25
