Artwork Description: In the autumn, as giant reeds head up into flower, the swallowtail and sulphur butterflies float in the sunlit air. The salt marshes are turning golden, and the air is gentle after the great heat of summer. The play of sunlight on the sculpted reed leaves was a delight but challenging to follow as the breezes moved the scene constantly whle I painted. The watercolour is done on 140 lb. acid-free paper.
