Product description:Three doorways: Mission San Jose, San Antonio Texas Three Doorways shows sunlight falling through an open door and across a flagstone floor to enter other rooms in an 18th century Spanish mission. Portions of two doorways are plainly seen. The third is implied by the passage of the light. The viewer's eye is drawn from one room into the other . . .and then out to the right. Portals lead us into and out of spaces. Each window sill or threshold defines a transition; inside or outside, a departure or an entry, a beginning or an end. A closed door brings me to wonder what is behind. An open one suggests that I enter. A window invites me to look beyond and out . . .or in. This is one image in a larger body of work: An on-going project titled Portals, treats the passage of light through and around windows and doors. This is one attempt to capture and share my vision of the subtle drama as light moves across a surface or into a space. Three Doorways was created at Mission San Jose in San Antonio Texas on Velvia 100 sheet film exposed in a 4x5 inch Zone VI view camera mounted with a 150mm Fujinon lens. The transparency has been digitally scanned and is presented here as an archival ink jet print. Three Doorways was selected for for inclusion in the Shared Visions Exhibition for 2013-2014.. 8x10 $175 Matted 11x14 $275 Matted 16x20 $400 ships rolled
