Product description:Window Peak: Longs Peak Colorado Window Peak shows the snow-cap of Long's Peak reflected in a window pane. This is a small scene found on the front porch of The William Allen White Cabin, a historic structure, built in 1900, that overlooks the Big Thompson River in Rocky Mountain National Park. This image was created early in June of 2011 during a two week appointment as Artist-In-Residence at Rocky Mountain National Park. The sweeping panoramic view from the porch of this historic cabin is breath taking . . .and overwhelming. Snow covered mountains overlook an alpine meadow and the river. But I was looking for an intimate interpretation of my experience. We saw this view of Longs Peak reflected in the window every morning as we ate breakfast on the porch. Window Peak was created on Velvia transparency film exposed in a 4x5 inch Zone-VI view camera mounted with a 210mm/f-5.6 Caltar-II N lens. Exposure was not recorded. The transparency has been digitally scanned and the image is presented here as an archival ink jet print. This image was originally conceived, created, processed and printed expressly for donation to The Park. The first print of this image is in the possession of The National Park Service and will be sold to support the maintenance of the historic cabin. Window Peak was selected for inclusion in the VAA 30th Annual Member Show, hosted by The visual Arts Alliance of Houston. in 2013. 8x10 $175 Matted 11x14 $275 Matted 16x20 $400 Ships Rolled
